Residents of Kenema have been left in shock and mourning following a violent incident at the Kenema Plane Field, between the night of Sunday 12th April and morning of Monday 13th April, in which a young man was killed in an alleged mob attack, raising renewed concerns over the rising trend of mob justice in the Eastern Region.

The victim, identified as Saidu Bockarie of Kongolei Street in Burma 3 Section, Kenema, was reportedly accused of attempting to steal a mobile phone when he was confronted by an angry crowd at the Plane Field.
