Zainab Sheriff, who was previously declared wanted by the Sierra Leone Police over allegations of threatening language and incitement, was arrested on Friday morning at the Royal Fitness Gym, where she reportedly attends regular training sessions.
The arrest follows a public notice issued by the police linking Sheriff to statements alleged to contain threatening and inciting remarks. While authorities have not publicly outlined the specific details of the allegations, they confirmed that she will be processed at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and formally charged in due course.
Her apprehension marks a notable development in the case, which has attracted public attention in recent days due to the nature of the accusations.
Under Sierra Leone’s criminal procedure, suspects taken into custody are typically processed at the CID, where statements are obtained and investigations completed before formal charges are filed in court.
As of press time, neither Sheriff nor her legal representatives have issued a public statement regarding the matter. Further updates are expected as the legal process progresses.
