18-Year-Old Remanded Over Alleged Housebreaking in Freetown

Bayoh, 18, has been remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown after appearing before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1.

Bayoh is facing a charge of housebreaking with intent to commit a felony, contrary to Section 27(2) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the court documents, the alleged incident occurred on August 27 in Mamudu Town, Gloucester Village, within the Mountain Rural District in the Western Area of Freetown.

The prosecution alleges that Bayoh broke into the residence of Boima Momoh with the intent to commit a felony.

During the proceedings, DPC Linda Teh informed the court that Bayoh had been served with copies of the case and inquiry file. The accused was not legally represented and confirmed receiving the documents. However, no plea was entered.

Magistrate Jah declined to grant bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged offence, and remanded Bayoh at the Male Correctional Centre.

The matter was adjourned to September 29, 2026, for further hearing
