Ibrahim Brassay, a 31-year-old man also known as Blessing, has been sentenced to one year in prison following his conviction for motorcycle theft.
Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah delivered the judgment at Pademba Road Court No.1.
The defendant was found guilty of stealing a TVS CX motorcycle, registration number AWF 120, valued at Le 30,000, from Rashid Saidu Conteh. The theft occurred on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Regent Park in the Western Area of Freetown.
Despite the defendant's plea of not guilty to the charge of larceny, contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916, the prosecution, led by Inspector Mabel M. Tarawally, presented witness testimony, and the matter was adjourned for a ruling.
Magistrate Jah stated that after reviewing the presented evidence and considering the defendant's plea, he was not inclined to impose a non-custodial sentence. Emphasizing the necessity of deterring such criminal activity both within Freetown and across Sierra Leone, the Magistrate sentenced Brassay to one year in prison.
