The ongoing murder trial of Abdul Kpaka heard testimony confirming the cause of death for the deceased, Sia Fatu Kamara, as manual strangulation.

Government Pathologist Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma testified before the court, stating that the official autopsy report concluded the cause of death was asphyxia consistent with manual strangulation following a physical assault.

The testimony, as reported by Liberty Online TV, serves as a crucial component of the prosecution's case against Mr. Kpaka, who is accused of killing his then-girlfriend in 2024. This medical evidence provides definitive confirmation of the fatal injury.

The trial is continuing at the High Court in Freetown, with further witnesses scheduled to present evidence. A ruling has not yet been delivered by the court. The accused is being tried under the provisions of the Murder Act and relevant criminal statutes.

The case has garnered significant public attention due to the gravity of the allegations and the profiles of the parties involved. Court proceedings are expected to continue in the coming days as both the prosecution and defence conclude their presentations.
