Father Arrested After Viral Child Abuse Video

A man, reportedly between 30 and 50 years of age, was arrested after a video showing him violently abusing his child went viral. The video showed him assaulting the child for leaving the house.

The child’s mother was observed looking on helplessly, as the father had allegedly forbidden her to intervene under threat of physical violence against her.

Following up on the case of child cruelty and physical violence, authorities have been in communication with the Head of the Family Support Unit (FSU) and Line Managers to locate the community.

The community, situated in Waterloo, near 5 5 in the Western Rural district of Sierra Leone, has been identified.

The alleged perpetrator, discovered to be the child's biological father, has been arrested and is currently detained at the Corner Kick Police Station in Waterloo.

The child victim is scheduled to be referred to an undisclosed care facility for abused children to receive alternative care services.

According to a source, the ministry of Gender and Children's Affairs and the Police are in close communication to provide a detailed update by the end of the day.
