The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has announced its intention to sell a luxury seaside residence and two other high-value properties, which were legally classified as unexplained wealth. This action follows a court order linked to significant corruption-related losses at the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

The properties will be disposed of through either a public auction or a private treaty, with the ACC anticipating the recovery of billions of leones to be remitted to the state treasury. This sale is a key component of the Commission's ongoing, vigorous campaign to recover public funds misappropriated through corrupt activities.

ACC Commissioner Francis Ben Kaifala specified that the flagship asset is an ultra-modern, three-storey seaside home. It features advanced electronic security, smart-home technology integration, and is fully furnished. The residence also boasts a penthouse with panoramic sea views, a swimming pool, a waiting area, and ancillary living quarters.

A reserved price for the assets will be established upon the completion of a professional valuation. The Commissioner confirmed the sale is mandated by a court order, validating the unexplained wealth classification under applicable anti-corruption statutes.

The ACC is formally inviting potential buyers who can demonstrate legitimate sources of funds to prepare for the procurement process, which will commence once the valuation and full sale modalities are finalized. The Commission guarantees that all funds recovered will be transparently channeled back to the people of Sierra Leone via state mechanisms.

This development underscores the intensified national effort focused on financial misconduct and asset recovery, particularly within critical revenue-generating institutions.
