Admire Bio-Jalloh, widely known as “Mama of Freetown” and a niece of President Julius Maada Bio, has been granted bail after spending over a week in police custody over allegations connected to a suspected gold fraud case involving foreign nationals.
According to a reliable source who spoke to Sarah Kallay Blog, Bio-Jalloh was released on bail on Monday evening, 22 June 2026, after being detained following her response to a police invitation in early June.
She is accused of being involved in the alleged sale of fake gold to two Italian businessmen in a transaction estimated between $220,000 and $300,000. The case has attracted public attention due to the scale of the alleged deal and the involvement of foreign investors.
The situation further escalated following reports that the Italian nationals were later attacked and robbed along the Mile 13 axis by individuals allegedly linked to Bio-Jalloh after the transaction was completed.
While Bio-Jalloh has now been released on bail, she has not been formally indicted, and investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone Police have issued a wanted notice for her husband, 42-year-old Dauda Jalloh, also known as Alhaji Dausy. Authorities say he is wanted in connection with multiple offences, including conspiracy to defraud, obtaining money by false pretences, conspiracy to commit robbery, money laundering, and selling minerals without legal authorization. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
The case continues to draw widespread public interest as law enforcement authorities pursue further investigations into what police describe as a complex network of alleged financial and criminal activities.
