Ady Macauley Launches APC Flagbearer Campaign for 2028 Election

Former Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Ady Macauley, has formally launched his campaign for the flagbearer position of the All People’s Congress (APC) in advance of Sierra Leone's 2028 general elections. The declaration was made at the Fourah Bay Field community, under the campaign theme, “Building Bridges and Creating Opportunities for All.”
Addressing supporters and party members, Mr. Macauley articulated that his candidacy is motivated by a profound commitment to public service and a vision for a Sierra Leone that delivers tangible benefits to all citizens. His leadership ambition extends beyond the APC flagbearer role to leading the nation.
Mr. Macauley outlined a comprehensive vision founded on transparent governance, robust institutions, and responsible management of public resources. Key pillars of his agenda include youth and women's empowerment, with a commitment to integrating young people as partners in governance and prioritizing the safety and economic advancement of women.
On economic transformation, he pledged to pivot the nation from aid-dependency to production, focusing investment on key sectors like agriculture, fisheries, manufacturing, and technology. He also proposed preferential procurement laws to reserve government contracts for women-owned and youth-led businesses.
Furthermore, Mr. Macauley committed to leading with integrity, promoting inclusion, and upholding the sanctity of the electoral process to ensure the irregularities of 2023 are not repeated.
