Judicial proceedings have commenced regarding allegations of financial impropriety at the Amnet Filling Station in Makeni. The facility's station manager and assistant manager have been remanded in custody following charges of fraud and misappropriation of corporate funds.
The defendant Assistant Manager Noah Aleem Bun Kamara, 26, and Station Manager Joe Menfallah, 47, appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 who ordered their remand on charges of conspiracy to defraud and embezzlement, following their arraignment on June 10, 2026.
According to court documents, the defendants are accused of conspiring between May 1, 2025, and February 20, 2026, at the Amnet Filling Station in Makeni, Bombali District, Northern Province, to defraud the company.
The prosecution alleges that they fraudulently embezzled the sum of Le 473,800 received from customers on the station’s behalf.
When the charges were read, the defendants did not enter a plea, as the proceedings are at the committal stage.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, representing the prosecution, informed the court that the defendants' legal counsel had been served with their statements.
Magistrate Fornah denied bail and remanded both men to the correctional facility. The case has been adjourned to June 17, 2026.
