Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, an aspirant for the All People's Congress (APC) flagbearer position, has provided a significant contribution exceeding Le1.5 billion to bolster the party's operations across Sierra Leone. The donation was formally presented on Thursday, November 5, 2025, during a meeting with party officials and members at the national secretariat.
This substantial financial commitment includes Le500 million earmarked for the construction of the Bai Bureh Hall in Port Loko District, NLe1 billion designated for the national secretariat to facilitate the registration and printing of ID cards for financially constrained members, and 500 bags of cement to accelerate the completion of the APC office in Kambia.
During the event, Dr. Bangura articulated that this support is integral to his strategy for strengthening the APC in preparation for the 2028 general elections. He urged party members to maintain active engagement within their respective communities and collaborate effectively to broaden the party's support base nationwide.
He further elaborated on his vision for women's empowerment within the party structure, commending the efforts of the APC women's wing. Dr. Bangura emphasized his commitment to increasing women's representation in leadership roles and pledged to support initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable livelihoods, reducing reliance on high-pressure microcredit loans.
The event attracted a substantial turnout of party members and supporters, who universally welcomed the donation as a vital injection of resources for ongoing APC activities. Dr. Bangura concluded by appealing for continued unity and focused effort from all members as the party advances its readiness for the 2028 electoral cycle.
