Honorable Mohamed Bangura, a Member of Parliament representing the All People’s Congress (APC), has announced plans to contest the 2028 presidential election under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on Hot Seat on Africa Young Voices (AYV), Bangura declared his intention to vie for the presidency as the PDP’s flagbearer.
“I will contest the presidency under the PDP. I have already been driven out of the APC, and in the next few months, I will be leaving the party after all formalities are completed,” he stated.
Bangura explained that although he currently serves as an APC Member of Parliament, he considers himself effectively pushed out of the party. He indicated that his formal exit is expected to be finalized in the coming months.
He reaffirmed his ambition to run in the 2028 presidential election under the PDP platform, positioning himself as a prospective flagbearer for the party.
The announcement signals a notable political shift ahead of the 2028 elections, as Bangura prepares to transition from the APC to a new political platform while pursuing his presidential aspirations.
