APC Pujehun Elects Sylvester Massaquoi as New District Chairman
Mr. Sylvester Massaquoi has been elected as the new All People’s Congress (APC) District Chairman for Pujehun District, defeating incumbent chairman Mohamed Amadu Sesay, popularly known as Dr. Woo.
Massaquoi secured 61 valid votes against Sesay’s 51 votes, giving him a 10-vote margin in the district-level election.
The election formed part of the APC’s ongoing internal district-level elections across Sierra Leone. The party had listed its District Office in Pujehun Town among the designated centres for the electoral process.
The result brings an end to Sesay’s tenure as APC District Chairman in Pujehun District and places Massaquoi at the head of the party’s district executive leadership.
The election brought together APC delegates and party stakeholders from across the district to participate in the selection of the new district executive.
In addition to the chairmanship, all the incumbent district executive positions were changed during the election. These included the vice chairman, secretary, Young Congress Leader, Women’s Leader and other executive positions.
Massaquoi will now lead the newly elected district executive as the APC continues its lower-level internal electoral process across the country.
The APC has previously said its ongoing lower-level elections are aimed at completing outstanding electoral processes and strengthening its district and other grassroots structures.
