Pujehun Partners Hold Monthly GBV and Child Protection Meeting
Key stakeholders and development partners in Pujehun District convened for their monthly coordination meeting for September 2026 to address gender-based violence (GBV) and child protection issues across the region.
Hosted at the Ministry of Social Welfare Office in Pujehun Town with support from Save the Children International, the gathering brought together representatives from the Ministry of Gender and Children's Affairs, the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Family Support Unit, the Legal Aid Board, Civil Society Organizations, the Children's Forum Network, BRAC, ActionAid, SOCFIN Agricultural Company, and local media outlets.
Serving as meeting chairman, Moses Foray of Save the Children emphasized that the primary objective of the session was to strengthen GBV referral services in the district while fostering joint coordination to effectively tackle sexual and gender-based violence alongside child protection challenges.
Alhaji Mansaray, Assistant Director for the Ministry of Social Welfare in Pujehun District, urged local communities to break the silence surrounding abuse and actively encourage survivors to seek formal protection and legal justice.
Mansaray expressed gratitude to the participating line ministries and partner organizations, reaffirming his institution's ongoing commitment to eradicating violence against women, girls, and children in the district.
The session concluded following comprehensive institutional updates presented by partner organizations regarding ongoing GBV and child protection interventions.
