Sierra Leonean-Canadian artist and reality television personality, Hawa Hunt, has publicly alleged that the All People's Congress (APC) is attempting to manipulate the party's internal ward elections to the detriment of Mohamed Omodu Kamara, widely known as "Jagaban."

In a statement shared across her social media platforms, Hunt expressed her disbelief, writing: "I am baffled in seeing this rubbish. It’s so clear that APC is trying to rig Jagaban 4 President. If you guys don’t open your eyes and let Mr. Kamara, who is well deserving, lead APC, I’m afraid you will regret it.”

Hunt's accusation follows a contentious lower-level election held yesterday by the APC. The process reportedly involved party members casting votes using only symbols—such as a chicken, motorbike, house, and cotton tree—on ballots, without accompanying candidate names or images.

This lack of candidate identification has drawn strong criticism from internal aspirants, including Hon. Rabbi Sirajin Munirr Rollings-Kamara, who demanded the immediate suspension of the elections, characterizing the process as "deeply troubling" and fundamentally undemocratic.

Observers suggest that Hunt’s comments underscore increasing public scrutiny of the APC's internal electoral mechanisms and raise serious concerns regarding the fairness and transparency of the party's lower-level elections.

Her remarks have sparked considerable debate on social media, with many Sierra Leoneans reacting to the claim that Jagaban is facing unjust obstruction within the party.

As of yet, the APC has not issued a public response to Hunt’s allegations, and the party’s leadership has refrained from commenting on the recent criticism surrounding its ward election procedure.
