Blyden Praises Jagaban’s Stand Against Gender-Based Insults in Politics

Prominent All People’s Congress (APC) figure Sylvia Blyden has commended APC flagbearer aspirant Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, for standing up against gender-based insults targeting women in politics.

Speaking on Truth Media, Blyden praised Jagaban’s leadership and integrity, noting that he publicly cautioned his supporters against using gender-based or sexually explicit language to attack any woman. “Jagaban is a wonderful person,” she said, adding that his actions demonstrate respect for women within the political space.

She described Jagaban as an asset to the APC, explaining that his stance on protecting women in politics was among the reasons she invited him for a personal discussion. “For Jagaban’s strength of character to stand in a public space and defend women, he will always be someone I admire for that,” Blyden stated.

Her remarks come amid ongoing national conversations about gender equality and the treatment of women in political life. Observers say such public positions by political aspirants could help set a standard within parties, signaling that gender-based attacks will not be tolerated as the country moves toward the 2028 presidential elections.
