Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has called on Sierra Leoneans living abroad to return home and actively participate in building the country’s future. He made the appeal while speaking at the Sierra Leone Investment Diaspora Networking Event held in the United Kingdom.
Addressing a crowd of Sierra Leonean professionals, entrepreneurs, and potential investors, Dr. Sengeh said, “We need you, the Diaspora. We need you to come home and help make Sierra Leone a middle-income country. Come to Sierra Leone and make money so that the country grows.”
The event brought together diaspora members from various sectors who were eager to connect, exchange ideas, and learn about investment opportunities back home. It provided a platform for networking, sharing insights, and discussing plans that could support the nation’s growth.
Dr. Sengeh emphasized that the government is open and ready to partner with those willing to return and invest. “Our government is open to partnership, and we are ready for investment,” he said.
He also highlighted Human Capital Development as a key government priority, noting the focus on building the skills and talents of Sierra Leoneans. “That is why we are keen on developing talents,” he added.
Throughout the event, Dr. Sengeh’s message was clear: Sierra Leone is open for business, and the government encourages its citizens abroad to return and contribute to the country’s transformation. The call is not only rooted in patriotism but also in the opportunity for individuals to succeed and grow alongside the nation.
As the event concluded, the message remained strong: Sierra Leone is ready, the government is ready, and it is calling on its diaspora to take the next step.
