CID Invites APC Secretary General Over Mammoth Meeting Remarks

CID Invites APC Secretary General over Mammoth Rally Remarks

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has summoned All People’s Congress (APC) Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya in connection with statements he made during the party’s mammoth rally at Attouga Mini Stadium, which the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) deemed profane and provocative.

Reports indicate that Dumbuya is expected to appear before the CID today, accompanied by other APC officials, to provide information and clarify his position on the remarks made against President Julius Maada Bio.

The summons follows the PPRC’s earlier decision to impose a fine on the APC over similar statements, which the regulatory body cited as violations of the Public Political Conduct Code.

The CID’s invitation highlights the enforcement of regulations on political expression and the importance of accountability in public discourse. Party officials are expected to cooperate fully with authorities and comply with any directives from the investigative body.

As of publication, the CID has not issued a public statement regarding the matter, and it remains unclear whether the inquiry will result in additional sanctions or further legal proceedings.
