The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has assured the public of credible elections in 2028, urging political parties to focus on their strategies rather than questioning the integrity of the electoral process.
Speaking on AYV Television, Director of External Relations at ECSL, Albert Massaquoi, said all political parties have an equal opportunity to win if they organise effectively and present clear plans to the electorate.
“Anyone can win the 2028 elections. All political parties should do their work, develop their strategies, and not focus on questioning the credibility of the ECSL,” he said.
He emphasised that the electoral process remains reliable, assuring stakeholders that the Commission is committed to delivering free, fair, and credible elections.
“We are confident in the process, and in 2028 we will conduct free, fair and credible elections,” he added.
Massaquoi’s comments come as political parties begin preparations ahead of the next general elections, with increasing attention on electoral processes and public confidence.
