Education Minister Orders Agape School to Refund NPSE Results Fees

Education Minister Conrad Sackey has ordered Agape School in Dwazark to refund parents who were forced to pay fees to access their children’s National Primary School Examination (NPSE) results.

The directive came after Minister Sackey personally visited the hilltop community school following reports of unauthorized charges.

School authorities were subsequently summoned to the Ministry of Education to respond to the allegations. Following the meeting, Sackey emphasized that all money collected for releasing NPSE results must be returned immediately.

The school was also directed to notify parents through its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) that no payments are required for examination results, and to submit a formal written commitment preventing future occurrences.

Although this is Agape School's first default, Sackey issued a stern warning, highlighting that even small extra fees impose a heavy financial strain on vulnerable families living in the community.

"We cannot build an education system that continually asks our poorest families to pay more at every step," he stated.

Reaffirming the Ministry's commitment to protecting students and parents, Sackey advised schools with legitimate costs to seek approval through official channels rather than imposing unexpected charges.

The intervention reflects ongoing efforts by the Ministry to eliminate unauthorized financial barriers to education across the country.
