Luawa FC Snatch Late Win Over Bhantal to Escape Relegation Zone

Luawa FC secured a crucial 1–0 away victory over Bhantal FC on Sunday, 24th May 2026 at the SLFA Academy, with a stoppage-time strike that lifted the “Cacao Boys” out of the relegation zone in the Leone Rock Premier League.

Bhantal FC, runners-up in the last two seasons and currently seventh on the table, hosted a Luawa side battling for survival after four consecutive seasons in the top flight.

The first half was played at a high tempo, with both teams showing urgency in attack. Bhantal created several promising opportunities and looked the more threatening side, but failed to convert their chances. Luawa, meanwhile, defended resolutely to keep the score level at 0–0 at halftime.

The match remained tightly contested after the break, with neither side able to break the deadlock as the game approached its closing stages.

However, in the 90+2nd minute, substitute Abdul S. Kamara produced a decisive moment of quality. He beat his marker with a sharp dribble before calmly slotting past the Bhantal goalkeeper to secure the late winner for Luawa FC.
