FIFA Orders Real Valladolid To Pay €837,615 to AIK Freetong Over The Transfer Of Juma Bah

FIFA's Players' Status Committee has ordered Real Valladolid to pay 837,615 to Sierra Leonean club AIK Freetong. This ruling resolves a dispute concerning the financial benefits following the departure of Sierra Leonean international defender Abdulai Juma Bah in January 2025.

The conflict originated from Bah's move to Manchester City, triggered by the unilateral payment of a 6 million release clause. While Real Valladolid argued that this payment constituted legal compensation for a contract breach rather than a standard transfer profit, FIFA determined that a taxable "benefit" had been realized. The committee calculated Valladolid's net profit at approximately 5.878 million, after accounting for initial acquisition costs of 170,000.

Based on the 15% profit-sharing provision established in the original 2024 loan-to-permanent agreement, FIFA awarded AIK Freetong 837,615. This figure represents the 15% entitlement minus a standard 5% solidarity contribution.

Although AIK Freetong initially sought 1.031 million, the governing body settled on the recalculated amount. Real Valladolid has since appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), where the matter remains pending.

The club is reportedly preparing for the financial liability should the appeal be unsuccessful.
