Former FC Kallon and Waterloo Community Footballer Passes Away

The Sierra Leone football community is in mourning following the passing of former FC Kallon midfielder and Waterloo Community Football Club (Bassatown) star Alie N. B. Sesay, fondly known as “Neymar Baros.” He died in the morning hours of Tuesday 6th January 2026 after nearly a month-long battle with a serious illness.

Sesay was widely admired for his talent, humility, and loyalty both on and off the pitch. Known for his skillful play and infectious smile, he inspired teammates, fans, and young footballers across Sierra Leone.

Tributes have poured in from across the country, with many remembering him not only as a gifted footballer but also as a brother and a dreamer whose life and career were cut tragically short.

“Neymar Baros was more than a footballer he was a brother, a dreamer, and a young legend,” said one former teammate.

“His passion for the game and his love for the people around him will never be forgotten.”

As the Sierra Leone football community grieves, Sesay’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he inspired.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
