Former Leone Stars head coach Mohamed Kallon has publicly accused the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) of attempting to exert undue control over his duties during his tenure with the national team.

In a Facebook post, his first public statement since his departure, Kallon suggested that this alleged interference from the football governing body is a major factor contributing to the stagnation of Sierra Leonean football over the past 30 years. He used a metaphor to illustrate that while he was appointed, he was reportedly denied the necessary autonomy to execute his responsibilities.

Kallon further announced plans for a live Facebook session on Monday to elaborate on his position and provide additional details regarding his experience.

The Sierra Leone Football Association had previously stated that Kallon's dismissal followed due deliberation and was executed in the best interest of the Association and the future of football in Sierra Leone.

In a related development, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, Director General of the National Sports Authority, informed Truth Media that the SLFA referenced Kallon’s refusal to engage with the media as one of the reasons detailed in his dismissal letter.
