Grimsby Town Signs Kamil Conteh as a Major catch for League two Club

Kamil Conteh has joined Grimsby Town of England, on a three-year deal from Middlesbrough.

The 20-year-old midfielder was a key player for the Gateshead based club in the National League last season, and he is seen as a major coup for the Mariners.

Coach Paul Hurst of Grimsby town stated:

"I'm really pleased to have signed Kamil. He was on our wishlist for some time, certainly over the summer and at the end of last season when we watched him a few times. He really impressed us then so he's been an ongoing target for us. He's a good midfield player, he can play off either foot and receives the ball well. He gets around the pitch extremely well and he is a young player that we feel has got so much potential"

This transfer is seen as profitable for Kamil's former team, Boro's, who had brought him in for free but now has been taken for an undisclosed fee.

Conteh is the latest addition to Hurst's squad as he prepares for the 2023-24 season. The Mariners have also signed John McAtee, Tyrese Fornah, and Ryan Taylor.

Hurst is looking to build a team that can challenge for promotion to League One, and he believes Conteh can be a key part of that.
