India's All-Party delegation, decrying terrorism, engages with Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone recently hosted an inter-party delegation from India on a bilateral mission aimed at strengthening relations and garnering support for the Republic of India in response to the ongoing threat of terrorism, which has been a persistent issue for decades.

During the three-day engagement, lawmakers, executives, and media representatives explored various aspects of governance, highlighting the challenges faced by India in its conflict with Pakistan.

In a meeting with the All-Party Delegation, the Honourable Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, expressed condolences for the loss of lives, and reaffirmed Sierra Leone's solidarity with India.

The delegation, led by MP Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde, met with National Security Coordinator Abdulai Caulker to discuss collaborative efforts to combat cross-border terrorism, disrupt terror financing, enhance security frameworks, and share cyber intelligence.

The group also engaged with Sierra Leone's Speaker, Rt Hon Segepoh Solomon Thomas, Members of Parliament, and the Committee on Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation to discuss joint efforts in multilateral forums aimed at combating terrorism and bolstering global peace and security.

Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde and the All-Party Delegation interacted with media and journalists, sharing insights from their productive discussions on counter-terrorism efforts with Sierra Leone’s Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Deputy Defence and Acting Foreign Ministers, National Security Coordinator, and other senior officials.

They expressed optimism for future initiatives promoting transparency and accountability.
