International Cricket Council Regional Manager Applauds Cricket Sierra Leone Development

The International Cricket Council Regional Manager for Africa Patricia Kambarami has lauded the recent strides of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association far growing the game rapidly among other things.


She made this revelation during the officially opening of 360 framework projects aimed at promoting cricket in the Country at the Police Wives Multi purpose hall at Kingtom with members of the media.


She added that the International Cricket Council is deeply committed towards supporting Cricket in the West African Nation to meet key Benchmarks like the 2030 target of increasing women's participation in every step of the way.


School cricket development was echoed by the International Cricket Council development Officer for Africa Justine Ligyallingi, who also stressed on the importance of taking the sport to schools and also recording the total number of schools that are actively involved in promoting the sport.

He also added that they lobby the stakeholders in Sports to create opportunities for Schools to offer Cricket as an extramural activity through the development of coaches and cricket facilities.


The Chairman of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association Francis Trevor Samura said the visit of the ICC regional delegation was timely and significant, as it will create a clear pathway for deliberations on realizing the target set-out by the Cricket Governing Body.
