Sheikh “Omodu” Kamara, widely known as Jagaban and an aspiring flagbearer for the All People's Congress (APC), has made a substantial commitment to education with an investment of Le500 million in Baptist School.
This comprehensive initiative includes providing a free lunch program for all students, from Nursery 1 through Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3, and the donation of ten computers to enhance teachers' instructional capabilities.
During his visit, students warmly greeted Jagaban with a song of appreciation, a gesture noted by JSS Principal Mrs. Naure Fewiy, who emphasized that this action fulfills prior commitments made by Jagaban after he had listened to the school's needs.
Strasser, the APC Constituency Secretary, assured that the funds will be utilized with complete transparency to significantly upgrade the school's facilities. Planned improvements include procuring desks and chairs for all pupils, outfitting classrooms with whiteboards, constructing modern toilet facilities, and renovating the principal’s offices into contemporary, well-equipped spaces.
"Thank you very much to the administration of Baptist School for such a warm welcome, and to my children, thank you for the heart-touching song," Jagaban stated. "We are here today to share lunch together because this is what gives me satisfaction. Uplifting lives is in my DNA. This school will always be in my heart.”
This investment underscores Jagaban’s core focus on community engagement and his dedication to improving educational standards and resources for students and educators.
