The Jagaban Movement formally recognized the successful return of twenty pilgrims sponsored by Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, a prominent APC flagbearer aspirant widely known as "Jagaban," following their completion of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
On June 11, 2026, the pilgrims were officially welcomed back to Freetown at a reception held on Malta Street, marking the conclusion of their sacred journey to Saudi Arabia.
This initiative reflects Sheikh Kamara's commitment to supporting citizens in fulfilling their religious obligations. According to the organizing committee, the comprehensive sponsorship package included all travel, accommodation, and associated pilgrimage costs.
Mr. Ramie B. Saad, the Global Coordinator of the Jagaban Campaign Movement, emphasized the humanitarian scope of the project, noting that the total investment for the twenty pilgrims exceeded $140,000.
Furthermore, each participant received a stipend of Le5,000 upon arrival to facilitate their seamless reintegration and provide support to their respective families.
Alhaji Sheikh Ibrahim Sengeh, Head of the 2026 Jagaban Pilgrims Delegation, conveyed profound gratitude on behalf of the group, confirming that all participants successfully completed the required rites and returned with dignity.
The proceedings concluded with a series of prayers for Sheikh Kamara, his family, and the Republic of Sierra Leone, led by Alhaji Mohamed Sorie Ibrahim Conteh, Chief Imam of Central Mosque No. 1 in Moyamba Town.
