Larceny Defendant Serry Fofanah Granted Bail in Court

In a recent session at Pademba Road Court No. 2, Serry Modu Fofanah was granted bail by Magistrate John Manso Fornah. The defendant is currently facing formal charges of larceny, pursuant to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

The prosecution alleges that on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Soldier Street in Freetown, Mr. Fofanah dishonestly appropriated a red bicycle valued at six thousand Leones (6,000).

The property belonged to Ibrahim Koroma, and the offense was reportedly executed through fraudulent means.

Upon the formal reading of the indictment, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty. Representing the prosecution, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh moved for a brief adjournment to facilitate the preparation of testimonial evidence.

Magistrate Fornah set the conditions for bail at eight thousand Leones (8,000), requiring a surety of an equivalent amount.

The surety is mandated to provide a valid form of identification, subject to the approval of the Deputy Assistant Registrar.

The proceedings have been adjourned until May 4, 2026.
