Late APC Stalwart Minkailu Mansaray Remembered for Post-Election Peace Efforts

An All Peoples Congress (APC) Member of Parliament, Hon. Alpha Mansaray, has said the late Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray set a benchmark for peace-building through his nationwide reconciliation tour following Sierra Leone’s 2023 General Elections.

Speaking on Epic Radio, Hon. Mansaray reflected on the late politician’s efforts in the aftermath of the elections, noting that he travelled across several districts in the country to help ease tensions and promote peace and national reconciliation.

He said the tour was undertaken at a critical time when the country was experiencing heightened political tension and there was an urgent need to calm supporters and foster unity.

“What Minkailu left as a benchmark is that he took a tour, even at an old age, going across all the districts of the country,” Hon. Mansaray said.

According to him, the initiative played a significant role in promoting stability and easing post-election tensions in various parts of the country.

Hon. Mansaray noted that the late politician’s nationwide engagement reflected strong leadership and a deep commitment to peace-building during a crucial period in Sierra Leone’s democratic journey.

He further described Minkailu Mansaray’s actions as a model for political leaders, emphasizing that such efforts are essential in strengthening reconciliation and national cohesion after highly contested elections.
