The All People’s Congress (APC) National Secretariat has postponed its Constituency Lower-Level Elections, originally scheduled for Tuesday, 30 June 2026.
According to a public notice issued on 23 June 2026, the elections will now be held on Saturday, 4 July 2026.
The Secretariat stated that the decision was taken in consultation with the Internal Elections Monitoring Committee (IEMC), following a period of mourning and reflection within the party after the recent loss of senior stalwarts and leaders.
The adjustment, the party explained, is intended to allow members across the country to fully participate in ongoing bereavement activities while preserving unity, dignity, and solidarity within the APC.
The notice further encouraged aspirants, delegates, and stakeholders to use the additional time to strengthen engagement within their constituencies and prepare for peaceful, transparent, and credible elections.
It also emphasized that the constituency elections remain a key part of the party’s internal democratic process and are essential for strengthening party structures ahead of future political activities.
The APC called on all members to conduct themselves responsibly during the electoral process and to uphold peace, unity, comradeship, and mutual respect.
