"Master Money" Wahala: Bike Rider Allegedly Beaten to Death in Bombali

A tragic incident has left the rider community in Bombali District in mourning following the death of a commercial motorbike rider who was allegedly beaten during a dispute over master money the daily payment riders make to bike owners for the use of their motorbikes.
According to reports from the District Secretary General, Mr. Abdulai Kamara, and video footage circulating on social media, the rider reportedly succumbed to his injuries and was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony on October 7, 2025.
The burial was attended by executives of the Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bike Riders Union from the district and the northern region, alongside several colleagues who came to pay their last respects.
The Sierra Leone Police Force confirmed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
Meanwhile, the national leadership of the Riders Union has appealed for calm among its members, urging them to allow due process to take its course. The police have assured the public that all those found culpable will face the full force of the law.
