The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has commenced preparations for the 2025 Civic Festival by holding a key meeting with two of the country’s most influential cultural figures: LAJ, the national Peace Ambassador, and Colabo, President of the Sierra Leone Artists Union.

This high-level engagement, held at the ministry’s headquarters, formally established a partnership to ensure the upcoming festival is both impactful and broadly engaging. LAJ and Colabo are set to perform and will also lead efforts to mobilize other top artists for the festival’s main cultural event: the Unity and Peace Concert.

Scheduled for December 11 to 13 at the Youyi Building compound, the three-day Civic Festival is designed to strengthen civic responsibility, enhance public awareness, and promote national cohesion through educational activities, community exhibitions, and cultural performances.

The Ministry of Information and Civic Education views the participation of prominent artists and civic leaders as a strategic move to attract widespread public interest, particularly among the youth, thereby elevating the festival's overall profile and impact. The culminating Unity and Peace Concert will utilize music as a powerful medium to facilitate dialogue, encourage national unity, and celebrate Sierra Leone’s rich diversity.

The Ministry underscored that the Civic Festival is a critical national initiative focused on reinforcing civic consciousness, celebrating diversity, and fostering collective responsibility, extending beyond a mere entertainment event. With preparations now underway and strong commitments from Minister Bah, LAJ, Colabo, and various partners, the 2025 Civic Festival is anticipated to be a landmark occasion.

All Sierra Leoneans are strongly encouraged to attend the three-day celebration of unity, culture, and civic pride from December 11 to 13 at the Youyi Building compound.
