The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a comprehensive public warning regarding a surge in fraudulent visa processing activities, reportedly perpetrated by individuals falsely representing themselves as Ministry officials.
In a press release dated January 7, 2026, the Ministry’s Senior Management disclosed allegations that certain staff members have been illicitly soliciting funds from citizens under the pretext of facilitating visa applications. The Ministry unequivocally condemns this practice as both unacceptable and deceptive.
Crucially, the Ministry clarified that its mandate does not include visa processing; its role is strictly supervisory over associated agencies and departments. Therefore, any individual offering visa services on behalf of the Ministry is engaging in fraudulent conduct.
The public is strongly cautioned that engaging in monetary transactions with any Ministry employee for visa services is done entirely at the individual’s own risk. The Ministry explicitly states it will not be liable for any financial losses resulting from such illegal dealings.
Furthermore, the Ministry announced that any staff member implicated in these illegal acts will face immediate prosecution and the full force of the law, including termination from the Civil Service. Citizens are urged to maintain vigilance and report all suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities, underscoring the Ministry’s dedication to integrity and accountability.
