Minority Leader Kargbo Calls for Neutrality and Transparency in Ward Executive Elections

Hon. Abdul Kargbo, Minority Leader in Parliament, has urged the Independent Elections Management Committee (IEMC) to conduct the upcoming Ward Executive elections with strict neutrality, transparency, and professionalism.

In a statement to party members, Kargbo stressed that the integrity of the electoral process must be beyond question. He called for equal treatment of all aspirants, adherence to party rules, and a transparent counting and declaration process to maintain confidence in the results.

“Victory must be met with humility, and defeat must be accepted with dignity,” Kargbo said, emphasizing that internal democratic contests should not devolve into conflict or intimidation. He urged party members to reject violence, inflammatory language, and any misconduct that could undermine the process.

The Minority Leader also highlighted the importance of party unity. “Once this stage is concluded, we remain members of one party with a shared vision and common purpose. Our strength lies not only in winning positions but in preserving unity and demonstrating that we can conduct our affairs in a peaceful, orderly, and democratic manner,” he said.

Kargbo’s appeal comes as internal party elections approach, underscoring the need for discipline, fairness, and transparency to uphold democratic values and strengthen confidence in the party’s internal governance.
