The Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MOICE) and Fourah Bay College (FBC) have taken steps to strengthen the implementation of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) following a high-level review meeting in Freetown.
The engagement, held on 16 April 2026 at the Ministry’s offices at Youyi Building, brought together senior MOICE officials and a delegation from FBC led by Professor Andrew Bio.
Discussions centered on reviewing progress made under the existing MOU over the past year and identifying practical measures to enhance collaboration and ensure the effective delivery of agreed commitments.
Welcoming the delegation, Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, reaffirmed his support for the partnership and emphasized the importance of continuous institutional improvement and collaboration.
He noted that Fourah Bay College remains one of Sierra Leone’s leading academic institutions and stressed the need for sustained reforms and stronger cooperation to enhance its national impact.
Speaking on behalf of FBC, Professor Bio thanked the Ministry for the engagement and expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership would benefit students, alumni, and the wider institution.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a joint committee to oversee the implementation of the MOU. Both institutions also agreed to pursue joint programmes, capacity-building initiatives, and resource mobilization efforts aimed at achieving tangible results.
