The Sierra Leone entertainment industry has been engulfed in controversy following explosive allegations made by Afro-fusion artist Umar Babah Conteh, popularly known as Adfega, against fellow musician Drizilik and media personality Vickie Remoe over what he described as “destiny swapping.”
The allegations, which surfaced through a series of emotional Facebook posts and a viral 2-minute-25-second video, have triggered heated debate across social media platforms, with fans expressing shock, confusion, and concern over the claims.
According to Adfega, the controversy stems from a 2023 opportunity linked to a performance at the Howard Theatre in the United States, where he claimed he was initially invited before events allegedly took a different turn.
“2023 R sen me passport to Drizilik en Vickie Remoe… dem use me passport en swap me destiny,” Adfega wrote in one of the posts that quickly went viral online.
The singer further intensified the controversy by alleging that several career opportunities including international exposure, collaborations, and music growth were diverted from him, while Drizilik’s career allegedly advanced significantly during the same period.
In another startling statement, Adfega wrote: “Drizilik Is From Hell.”
Speaking in the viral video, the visibly emotional artist maintained that his allegations were not made impulsively, insisting the issue had weighed heavily on him for years.
“I just don’t wake up one morning and make such decision… it’s something I have been thinking for years,” he stated, while emphasizing that he does not believe in bringing others down in order to succeed.
The accusations have since divided public opinion, with some social media users dismissing the claims as unfounded, while others speculate that the artist may be struggling with frustration, emotional distress, or pressure within the highly competitive music industry.
Others have questioned why the allegations are only surfacing now, nearly three years after the alleged incident.
As of the time of publication, neither Drizilik nor Vickie Remoe has publicly responded to the accusations, a silence that has continued to fuel speculation and online theories surrounding the matter.
The controversy has now placed Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry at the center of a wider conversation about fame, pressure, spirituality, perception, and the emotional toll artists face while navigating the music business.
With reactions continuing to pour in across digital platforms, many fans remain uncertain whether the unfolding saga reflects personal belief, unresolved grievances, or deeper struggles behind the scenes of the entertainment world.
