Hannover 96 has received a significant lift during their winter training camp with the official return of Sierra Leone international Mustapha Bundu to team sessions. The powerful winger is working toward full fitness in Belek, Turkey, following an MCL injury that sidelined him for the final weeks of 2025.

Bundu, who joined the German side from Plymouth Argyle in the summer of 2025, has been unavailable since sustaining the injury during the match against Preußen Münster in early December.

Head coach Christian Titz confirmed Bundu's measured integration into the mid-season preparations, stating, "Mustapha is progressing very well. We have already integrated him into parts of the team sessions. The goal is to gradually increase the intensity so he is ready for the challenges of the second half of the season."

His return is crucial for Hannover 96, who currently occupy 5th place, vying for a promotion play-off spot. The technical staff is optimistic that the versatile attacker will be available for the matchday squad when the 2. Bundesliga resumes on January 18 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, providing Titz with a vital attacking option for the remaining 17 matches.
