Opposition Whip Says Sierra Leone’s Governance Woes Stem from SLPP Manifestoes

Honourable Abdul Karim Kamara, the Opposition Whip in Sierra Leone’s Parliament, has claimed that the country’s governance challenges originate from the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) manifestoes of 2018 and 2023.

In a social media post, Hon. Kamara urged citizens to revisit the SLPP’s past and current manifestoes, asserting that many of the issues confronting the nation today were already evident in those documents. His post read, “If na lie, download and read.”

The statement has sparked discussion amid growing public debate on governance, accountability, and the government’s performance in delivering on its promises. The SLPP’s 2018 and 2023 manifestoes outlined key priorities in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic growth areas that continue to dominate national discourse.

Hon. Kamara’s remarks add to ongoing conversations among citizens and political commentators evaluating how campaign pledges have translated into real progress since the party took office.
