Para Powerlifting Star Rugiatu Sankoh to Compete at Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia

Sierra Leone’s female Para Powerlifting athlete, Rugiatu Sankoh, is set to represent the nation at the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, scheduled to take place from November 7 to 21, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Rugiatu will compete in the Para Powerlifting category, flying Sierra Leone’s flag high on the international stage.

Known for her resilience and unwavering commitment, Sankoh has continued to pursue excellence in her sport despite the challenges of limited resources and support.

Her coach and team lead from the National Paralympic Committee of Sierra Leone, Unisa Deen Kargbo, expressed optimism ahead of the competition, noting that the team is confident of an impressive performance from the determined athlete.
