Police Arrest Woman with Seven Parcels of Illegal Substances in Kambia

The Operations Team of the Kambia Police Division has arrested a 30-year-old woman, Mary Conteh, for unlawful possession of harmful substances at the Kambia District Central Lorry Park.
Conteh, a resident of Elizabeth Street, Bassa Town in Waterloo, was apprehended on Monday, October 13, 2025, after officers discovered seven wrapped parcels containing illegal substances in her possession.
Following her arrest, she was charged and appeared before Magistrate Joseph Toby at the Kambia District Magistrate’s Court. On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the court convicted her and sentenced her to three years in prison.
Police authorities described the arrest as part of ongoing efforts to combat the possession and distribution of harmful substances across the district.
They reaffirmed their commitment to working with the courts to ensure offenders face justice and to discourage others from engaging in similar criminal activities.
