Police Clamp Down on Cannabis Trafficking in Kenema

Police at the Wanjama checkpoint in Kenema intercepted a significant quantity of suspected cannabis Sativa in the early hours of Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Three individuals traveling in a vehicle with registration number AWR-589 are currently assisting police with investigations at the Kenema Police Station.
According to Detective Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohamed H. Feika, the Regional Crime Officer East, the police are committed to ensuring the success of the fight against harmful drugs in the region.
This incident follows another recent bust at the same checkpoint just days prior, where four other individuals were apprehended in possession of the same substance.
The police are urging the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of drug dealers in the community.
