Port Management Demands Premier League Title From SLPHA FC

Ahead of the 2026–2027 Leone Rock Premier League kickoff, the executive board of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority Football Club (SLPHA FC) convened with the club’s technical management on Monday, October 5, 2026. The strategic session aimed to review past performance and establish strict performance benchmarks for the upcoming campaign.

Addressing attendees, Club Chairman Abubakarr Kamara, Esq. expressed dissatisfaction with last season’s sixth-place finish, emphasizing that the result failed to align with the significant financial and logistical backing provided by the authority.

Noting that the team fell short of securing its first league title in fifteen years despite a strong early position, Kamara affirmed that Director General Yankuba Askia Bio and management have fully resourced the squad for the new season. He underscored that management expects nothing less than the Premier League trophy in return.

In response, Head Coach Hassan Miller Sesay acknowledged the shortcomings of the previous campaign, assuring leadership that key lessons have been integrated into their tactical preparations. Expressing gratitude to the executive board and SLPHA management, Sesay committed the technical team and squad to delivering a championship-winning season.

SLPHA FC, popularly known as the “Waterfront Boyz,” will open their 2026–2027 league campaign against East End Lions FC on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Trade Center ground.
