The Honorable Augusta James-Teima, Minister of Sports, has indicated that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) may be formally engaged to review the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of former Leone Stars Head Coach, Mohamed Kallon.

In a recent interview with Radio Democracy 98.1, the Minister confirmed that the Ministry is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of the situation. She stated that should the findings warrant further scrutiny, the ACC will be requested to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure full accountability.

Minister James-Teima clarified that the decision to involve the ACC is contingent upon the identification of potential administrative irregularities or legal breaches. She emphasized that the Ministry is committed to engaging the appropriate oversight institutions if any evidence of misconduct is substantiated.

Regarding the specifics of the coaching staff's engagement, the Minister noted that while a traditional formal contract may not have been utilized, there are established protocols and documentation regarding technical staff remunerations. These documents are expected to be executed by the relevant parties in accordance with agreed-upon terms and conditions.

Furthermore, the Minister stated that if any documentation is produced that contains unauthorized signatures attributed to Mr. Kallon, the Ministry would ensure such findings are transparently disclosed to the public.

These developments follow the Sierra Leone Football Association’s (SLFA) decision to terminate Mr. Kallon’s tenure, citing various administrative and regulatory non-compliance issues as the primary grounds for dismissal.
