The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has suspended the All People’s Congress (APC) from all political activities after the party failed to pay fines imposed under the Political Parties Act No. 25 of 2022.
According to the Commission, the APC was found in violation of Section 39(1) of the Act. The fines were formally communicated to the party on 2 February 2026, with a deadline of 10 February 2026 for payment. However, the PPRC stated that despite reminders, the party “failed, refused, or neglected” to comply.
In line with the enforcement provisions of the law, the Commission announced that the suspension takes immediate effect. The directive bars the APC from holding meetings, rallies, internal elections, and conducting administrative operations until the outstanding fines are paid.
The PPRC further noted that the suspension will remain in force until the party settles the penalties and receives written clearance restoring its operational status.

The Commission warned that continued non-compliance may attract additional sanctions as stipulated by law.
