His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, has established a historic precedent by becoming the first Head of State to simultaneously occupy three prominent international leadership positions.
President Bio currently serves as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President of the United Nations Security Council, and Coordinator of the African Union’s Committee of Ten (C-10) on United Nations Security Council Reform.
This exceptional convergence of responsibilities positions President Bio at the forefront of critical regional and global dialogues concerning peace, security, and development.
In his capacity as ECOWAS Chairman, he directs the regional organization's initiatives to foster stability and collaboration among West African nations. His role as President of the UN Security Council involves guiding deliberations on international peace and security matters.
Concurrently, as Coordinator of the AU C-10, he continues to articulate and advance Africa's unified stance on the necessary reform of the UN Security Council.
President Bio's simultaneous leadership across these three key institutions signifies a monumental achievement for Sierra Leone's international engagement and global standing.
