President Bio Underscores Local Manufacturing and Job Creation at National Conference

President Julius Maada Bio whilst delivering the keynote address at the National Manufacturing Conference, Dialogue and Exhibition held at the Bintumani Conference Centre, emphasized the critical role of local manufacturing and job creation for Sierra Leoneans. Organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Manufacturers’ Association, the event centered on the theme “Manufacturing for Sustainable Growth and Job Creation.”
During his address, President Bio highlighted the necessity for enhanced access to finance, markets, and business opportunities. He encouraged local producers to prioritize domestic consumption, job preservation, and business expansion to contribute significantly to the nation’s economic development.
The conference also featured the inaugural Manufacturers’ Roundtable and the Made in Sierra Leone Exhibition, convening industry leaders, government officials, and entrepreneurs. This platform facilitated discussions on strategies to expand the country’s manufacturing sector and bolster local businesses in generating increased employment opportunities.
President Bio expressed optimism regarding the future, noting that Sierra Leone is entering a new era with burgeoning opportunities for local businesses. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in increasing production, preserving jobs, and ensuring that the benefits of manufacturing are distributed equitably across all communities nationwide.
