During the government's regular press briefing, Victor Lewis, the Chairperson of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, presented a positive outlook on the progress that has been made in Sierra Leone's football industry.
Lewis highlighted significant developments, including the recent transfer of a player to a Swedish club, which he attributed to the league's stability since 2018.
He further emphasized the board's unwavering commitment to maintaining and improving the league, with the ultimate objective of qualifying national teams for major international competitions.
However, Lewis also acknowledged the challenges that the industry faces, notably, the need for adequate corporate sponsorship and improved football development in urban areas.
Additionally, Augusta James-Teima, the Minister of Sport, highlighted the range of sports under the ministry's jurisdiction and its efforts to enhance sports activities for the benefit of all.
