During the Africa Energy Forum 2026, Sierra Leone’s leadership articulated a vision for continental economic transformation centered on integrated industrial ecosystems. 

Hon. Julius Daniel Mattai, Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, advocated for the establishment of regional production hubs to shift Africa from a raw material exporter to a value-added manufacturing power. 

These hubs are designed to integrate mining, energy, and logistics into cohesive value chains, necessitating robust investments in infrastructure and digital connectivity to ensure global competitiveness.

Complementing this industrial strategy, Hon. Cyril Arnold Grant, Minister of Energy, emphasized the critical role of innovative energy solutions in driving development outcomes. 

His focus on emerging technologies, such as small modular reactors, highlights a strategic shift toward sustainable and reliable energy planning essential for supporting large-scale industrial growth. 

Together, these contributions underscore Sierra Leone’s commitment to regional integration and strategic partnerships as the primary drivers for long-term economic transformation.
